WorldTrend G.K. (WorldTrend合同会社), a limited liability company (godo kaisha) established under the laws of Japan ("we", "us", "our"), provides the mobile application "CodeShuffle" (the "App"). This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Summary

  • The App does not require an account or login. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other information that identifies you.
  • Your learning progress is stored only on your device and is never sent to us.
  • The only information collected when you use the App is collected by Google AdMob, the advertising service the App uses to show rewarded ads.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following information on your device to provide its features. None of it is sent to us or to any server we operate.

  • The problems you have solved and the problems whose answers you have viewed
  • Your daily streak
  • The problems you have opened today (to count today's free problems; this resets at midnight in your local time)
  • The programming language you last selected
  • Whether the App has requested an ad on your device (to decide when ads can be prepared in advance)

The Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform may also store information on your device about ad delivery and your consent choices.

You can delete all of this information by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by deleting the App. Because we do not keep a copy, deleted information cannot be restored.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows rewarded ads using Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Watching an ad is always your choice.

When ads are requested and shown, Google may collect and process the following information:

  • Device or other identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android)
  • Approximate location, estimated from your IP address
  • App interactions, such as ads viewed and tapped
  • Diagnostic information, such as crash logs and performance data of the advertising SDK

Google uses this information to deliver, measure, and improve ads, to prevent fraud and abuse, and, where you allow it, to show ads based on your interests. The information processed may vary depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's policies. For details, please see the Google Privacy Policy and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".

Information processed by Google may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Google carries out such transfers in accordance with applicable safeguards.

We receive from Google only aggregated reports (such as the number of ads shown), which do not identify you.

4. Your Choices About Ads

  • Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and other regions where required): Where required by law, the App asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before ads are requested. You can review or change your choices at any time from the Settings screen in the App.
  • iOS (App Tracking Transparency): On iOS, the App asks for your permission before the advertising identifier can be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you do not allow tracking, all features of the App remain available; the ads you see will simply not be based on your activity in other companies' apps and websites. You can change this at any time in the iOS Settings app under "Privacy & Security" > "Tracking".
  • Android: You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings.

5. Network Communications

All problems are bundled with the App, and solving them works offline. The App connects to the internet only to request and show ads and to obtain and manage your consent choices.

The App does not connect to Google's advertising services until the first time you choose to watch an ad (to open more than the free problems for the day, or to see an answer). After that, so that you do not have to wait, the App may prepare the next ad in advance, before you choose to watch one: for example, when you open a problem you have not yet solved or seen the answer to, when you have no free problems left for the day, and after an ad could not be shown or was closed before the end.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Because the App does not send information to us, we hold no personal information about you that we could access, correct, or delete. For information processed by Google, you can use the choices described in Section 4 and Google's own privacy tools.

  • EEA and UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time (from the Settings screen in the App). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where consent is required, ad-related processing relies on the consent you give through UMP.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell your personal information for money. However, Google's use of information for personalized ads may be considered "selling" or "sharing" under California law. You can opt out through the ad privacy choices on the Settings screen in the App and by limiting ad tracking on your device (Section 4). We do not use sensitive personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you have a request regarding these rights, please contact us (Section 10).

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Third-Party Services

  • Google Mobile Ads SDK (advertising)
  • Google User Messaging Platform (consent and privacy choices for ads)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Policy in response to changes in laws, the App's features, or the services we use. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page.

10. Contact

For questions about this Policy or the App, please contact WorldTrend G.K. through our contact page (in Japanese) or by email at developer@worldtrend.jp.
